Events to Watch
By Mark S. Watson
Tyranny is built on the foundation of arbitrary imprisonment; a principle that Bush and his colleagues fully understand. - Mike Whitney
There have some events that have transpired that bare watching. Recently I felt a strong urge to post a series of dreams by a person named Kim Weir, the dream can be found here. Then another Brother in Christ sent me a similar dream about roughly the same thing. I did not post it, but for those of you who are curious it can be found here. Since the postings some strange things have been happening. First, someone threw a grenade at President Bush while he was in Georgia (former USSR). While security officials were (too) quick to say the grenade was not armed and that 'the President was in no danger', such an incident is frightening to say the least. Then just a couple of days later, a errant plane was seen heading straight to the White House causing its evacuation. However before these strange events, I got a call from someone (very well placed) who let me in on something.
When President Bush met with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia recently, a heated exchange took place. Several issues were brought up and one in particular caused the Prince to become very angry. The subject of this heated exchange is known to me, but for the sake of safety (my own) I will not relay it on the web. Suffice it to say that what the President brought up is an ongoing criminal enterprise that has implications for many important high officials and important business people around the globe. It is not clear why the President brought this up but it appears someone on his staff felt it was necessary and passed it to him on his meeting minutes. Since the meeting the two potentially life threatening things happened to the President. Indeed when one considers other events transpiring with regards to oil and the instability of the Saudi Regime other events around the globe begin to make a great deal more sense. While on some level Americans understand this, I will repeat it nonetheless; without oil, the US economy grinds to a halt... not a slowdown, not a recession but to a grinding, life threatening halt.
There are also things going on in the Senate that should cause us all to take notice. Whatever you views of the Christian Right and its politicization of Christianity, the fight over filibusters is extremely important. This is not because it will end abortion or stop federal judges from nullifying gay marriage bans. That may be what religious leaders are telling their congregations around the nation, but nothing could be further from the truth. This is about bankruptcy and the fact that everyone in Washington knows the financial disaster heading our way. It is about furthering a corporate agenda, using corporate judges (more here) to help will reduce ordinary Americans to serfs. The recent Bankruptcy bill that was passed a couple of weeks ago is just the beginning. If the GOP wins again in 2006 in the congressional races, just wait and see what they plan next. The Supreme Court is they key and they know this because the High Court did step in and declared that peoples IRA accounts cannot be seized. The bankruptcy bill that was passed a couple of weeks ago is tame compared to what some want. Bankruptcy was intended to be a legal and humane alternative to debtors prisons, something that was used in Europe during the middle ages. This is a fight that goes much deeper that those issues that paid-for-preachers in the religious right are telling their parishioners1. Money is the mothers milk of politics and the only thing that would get the GOP to move with such fervor and determination is the whiff of cold hard cash. The religious right are being played for the suckers so many of them are. The sad part of it is many of them are going to be played for spiritual suckers on the last day when the LORD says to them...
Depart from me, ye who work iniquity...
America is at a pivotal point. The scandal with Tom Delay is no small matter, as the kinds of activities he appears to have been involved in goes to the very heart and soul of American politics; political pay backs, perks, unregistered gifts, favors, bribes are all part of a political scene in Washington that is robbing us blind... with (as opposed to without) our consent. Then there is the Jeff Gannon scandal that is truly shocking, more here.
There is some massive corruption and evil going on in Washington and it behooves us Christians to not be partakes of these unfruitful works of darkness2, as is the habit of the majority of America's Church goers. There are many ominous things going on that is showing a serious disconnect with regard to the actions of our leaders from the laws of America. A perfect example can be found here and goes to the heart of the entire idea of National Security, the very reason Americans are locked up in Concentration Camps today without charges or trials, like Jose Padilla who has been in one for almost three years, despite court rulings demanding that he be charged. Brothers and sisters, laugh at me if you will but Nazi Germany is on your doorstep, the lawless ones are in power.
Finally on the financial front there are some ominous rumblings going on under the surface of the Global economy. There have been several stories by reputable financial publications that clearly indicate some global hedge funds may be in deep trouble. Now the hedge fund industry is about $1 trillion large, more than enough to cause what is now euphemistically called a 'systemic event' (aka crash). What has precipitated this? Two words; GM and Ford. Their debt downgrade was very bad for credit markets and their accompanying derivatives. This is not over yet and a derivatives disaster in the financial markets just got much more likely. More on the perilous condition of the US financial system can be found here.
I exhort all Christians to pray for President Bush, as you have been commanded to by Jesus Christ and his holy Apostles... and as the saying goes 'fasten your seat belts!'
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
In Christ Jesus,

1Christ was for helping the poor, the religious right is for helping the rich.
2And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
